Lion Elastomers is announcing a price increase of US $ 0.25/lb. ($550/mt) on all grades of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR). The increase is effective March 1, 2017, or as signed contracts allow.
 
This increase is attributed to raw material cost remaining high due to recent unprecedented rises in monomer pricing and constrained availability of those monomers through at least the second quarter of 2017. The raw material situation will be reviewed monthly, relative to butadiene, based on reported IHS contract pricing.
