News: Extreme Weather Conditions Update #2

Feb 23, 2021

Lion Elastomers continues the path towards restarting their Texas facilities with today’s announcement that the natural gas curtailment has been lifted. This news now allows both the Lion Elastomers’ Orange, Texas and Port Neches, Texas manufacturing sites to restart their boilers and begin heating up their steam lines and process equipment. This is the major step that permits Lion Elastomers to focus this week on restoring production.

The target for restarting both the Orange and Port Neches operations is by weeks end, however, getting natural gas and restarting steam operations requires many systems checks, and if needed, any repairs to these systems incurred during the extended freeze. This, of course, follows that raw materials and utilities providers also restart their facilities and can support operational demands.

The primary goal and overall target is to safely restore operations as soon as possible to minimize the impact to customers. Lion Elastomers thanks you very much for continued patience and support through this time.
